Scholarship Opportunity

The Indiana Americans with Disabilities Act and Title VI Coordinators’ Association is offering two $500 scholarships for incoming college freshmen. Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2019.  Eligibility requirements:

  • Be an incoming college freshmen attending an accredited Indiana college or university
  • Have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher

New Invention- Sign Language Gloves

Navid Azodi and Thomas Pryor, two undergraduate students at the University of Washington have worked to invent a new way to communicate. Their invention, SignAloud gloves, which can translate American Sign Language into speech or text have prompted a lot of interest.

They developed the gloves to provide a bridge between native speakers of American Sign Language and people who do not sign.
