23 September 2021: International Day of Sign Languages

The International Day of Sign Languages arrives on the 23rd of September, right in the middle of the International Week of Deaf People (IWDP)— which happens annually from the 20th to the 26th of September. Since 1958 in Rome, Italy, the IWDP has been celebrated by the global Deaf community through various activities. The celebrations are welcome to all: families of deaf people, sign language interpreters, national governments, national amd international human rights organizations, as well as Organisations of Persons with Disabilities. This year’s theme is: We Sign for Human Rights. To learn more about this day, and the World Federation of the Deaf, check out the official page!
