For its 31st anniversary, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is celebrating its progress in access and inclusion. Last year we celebrated the important milestone of its 30th anniversary, and a year later it’s importance should still be reflected upon. A civil rights law that was written in 1990 that “prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.” Folks are invited to share their stories using the hashtag #ThanksToTheADA as we celebrate #ADA31 - Celebrate. Learn. Share.
Check out the site for complete information. Have fun celebrating!
